Sagrada Familia

Antoni Gaudi’s most iconic building and the most visited sight in Barcelona. The Sagrada Familia was the final obsession of Barcelona’s most famous son and no visit to the city is complete without a least a stroll around the outside. It is always busy and this does detract from the experience, but bar getting there early on a weekday in November, you will just have to swing with it. At least there will be someone on hand to take a photo of you!

Top Tip

Unless standing in a queue for hours is a critical part of your travelling experience, buying your tickets in advance is a must. There are various types of ticket available and we recommend the entrance plus tower visit. (Choose the Nativity Tower as Gaudi did work on that one!) You have to choose a time to go, so plan ahead. The main access is on C/Marina, in front of the Nativity facade.

Exception: the meeting point for school groups on educational visits is by the school buildings on C/Sardenya.
